Avana-50 Tablet is used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED), often known as impotence, in males. Erectile dysfunction is a condition in which a man is unable to produce and/or maintain a sufficient penile erection for sexual intercourse.

It happens when the blood flow to the penis is cut off. Reduced blood flow may be caused by physical issues following an accident or sickness or by psychological disorders such as worry, stress, sadness, and so on.

Obesity, smoking, and drinking, as well as other chronic lifestyle issues, may all play a role in ED. ED is substantially age-related, with the prevalence of moderate-to-severe ED potentially increasing two- to three-fold between the ages of 40 and 70.

What is the purpose of it?

This medication is used to treat erectile dysfunction, or impotence, in males, a condition characterized by problems getting and maintaining an erection during sexual intercourse.

How does it work?

This medication works by relaxing the smooth muscles in the blood vessel walls of the penis. This activity is restricted to certain parts of the body, and blood flow in these places is boosted.

Thus, when sexual stimulation occurs, the medication increases blood flow in the penis, resulting in a successful or better penile erection, but has no impact when no sexual stimulation occurs.

General precautions

Penis deformation

This medication should be taken with caution in individuals who have a physical penis deformity caused by angulation, cavernosal fibrosis, or Peyronie's disease.

If this medicine is used in individuals with certain circumstances, the risk of irreversible loss of sexual potency is quite substantial. Replacement with an appropriate alternative should be explored based on the clinical status of the patient.

Heart problems

If you have a heart or blood vessel issue, you should use this medication with great caution. It is not indicated for individuals who have had a heart attack, stroke, or life-threatening arrhythmia in the last 6 months.

Other medicines

Due to the increased risk of major side effects, this medicine is not suggested for use in patients who are undergoing medications such as nitroglycerine, riociguat, and others.

This medication should be taken with caution in individuals receiving medications to treat high blood pressure, heart disease, and other conditions.

Missed Dose

Because this medication is used just as needed, the odds of skipping a dosage are reduced. If you are taking this medication on a regular basis, take the missing dosage as soon as you recall. Skip the missed dosage if the next dose is approaching. To make up for a missing dosage, do not double the dose.

Overdose

Seek emergency medical treatment or call a doctor if you suspect an overdose.
